#Voiced

#Voiced Set Design

Using projection design and online streaming platforms, this thrilling multimedia performance reflects the changing reality of the characters as they communicate through Instagram, FaceTime, Texts, news stories, and YouTube, among other modern technologies. Students use their phones to take pictures, surf through social media, and more—all while the audience watches on stage-mounted displays. #VOICED follows six graduating seniors as they write for the Lamont High School newspaper, voicing their opinions on topics such as bigotry, religion, immigration, and mass shootings in a school that routinely censors its students. The stage is covered with screens that display text messages, video conversations, and social media platforms; this represents the generation's emphasis on sharing knowledge through technology.
