Acting

Acting is the pulse of my creative life. It shapes the way I write, direct, and research—each practice feeding the other through an ongoing exploration of character, relationship, and transformation. For me, acting is a space of empathy and inquiry, a way of stepping into other lives to better understand our shared humanity. It challenges norms, stirs compassion, and builds bridges between what is imagined and what is real.
My process weaves together Michael Chekhov’s imaginative technique with Uta Hagen’s attention to substitution and sense memory, balancing intuition with rigor. I draw on Viewpoints and improvisation to remain open and responsive to the energy of collaborators, finding rhythm and spontaneity in the ensemble. Commedia dell’arte informs my attention to physicality—the gesture, the breath, the dance between stillness and motion that gives a character shape.
My voice work, shaped through the California Canadian Voice Intensive and influenced by Kristin Linklater, allows me to create distinct vocal textures that mirror a character’s inner world. Each layer—physical, emotional, and vocal—interlocks to form performances that are alive, vulnerable, and precise. Through acting, I seek not just to portray truth, but to invite audiences into spaces where imagination becomes connection and transformation feels possible.
